Worcester, Mass. – Nikki Feinberg (San Antonio, Texas) scored two goals and Charlotte Mays (Melrose, Mass.) added another and host Clark University broke into the win column for the first time in 2014 with a convincing 3-0 win over Elms College in non-league women's soccer action on a rainy Granger Soccer Turf Tuesday night.

The win for the Cougars snaps a nine-game losing streak and gives head coach Brienne Smith her first coaching victory since taking over at her alma mater back in July.

Clark wasted little time getting on the scoreboard when a throw in found its way through some traffic and Mays outraced a pair of defenders and fired a shot into the upper right corner of the goal for her third marker of the season at 12:13.

The Cougars doubled their advantage in the 39th minute when Feinberg served a corner kick into the box and Blazer netminder Alexa Rinaudo (Bellmore, N.Y.) saw the ball go through her hands and into the back of the net.

Elms' best chance to score on the evening came when Kylen O'Hearn (Somers, Conn.) got behind the Clark defense after some confusion and fired a shot that sailed just over the crossbar.

With time winding down, the Cougars put the game away when a scramble off of a free kick saw a loose ball go to Kara Fischer (Belmont, Mass.) who touched a ball to Feinberg. She then launched a shot from outside the top of the box that sailed just over the outstretched arms of Rinaudo at 87:58.

The Cougars outshot the Blazers 18-11 overall but Elms held a 7-5 advantage in corner kicks. Rinaudo made eight saves in net for the visitors, while Gabby Paolini (North Potomac, Md.) turned back four shots to record her eighth career shutout.

Elms returns to action on Saturday with a home contest against Lesley, while Clark is off until Tuesday when they visit Mount Holyoke.
