Westfield, Mass. – Freshman Maddy Doyle (South Berwick, Maine) paced a strong Clark University contingent with a 17th place finish as the Cougars turned in a 14th place team finish at the very competitive James Earley Invitational on Saturday morning at Stanley Park.
Doyle wrapped up the 5K layout in 19:22 – the third freshman to cross the finish line – and her fastest performance in a 5K this season.
She was followed by sophomore Kristen Glennie (Standish, Maine), who churned out a 23rd place effort in a time of 19:41 and freshman Liza French (Middleborough, Mass.) was next in 65th place, completing the course in 20:31.
Clark's final two scoring runners were right on each other's heels as sophomore Emily Monahan-Morang (Freeport, Maine) was in 164th place at 21:52 and sophomore Kayla Rich (Billerica, Mass.) in 21:56, good for 169th.
