Williamstown, Mass. – Running in preparation for next week's New England Women's And Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championships, the Clark University women's cross country team turned in a second place performance at the Plansky Invitational hosted by Williams College at Mount Greylock High School on Saturday morning.
Maddy Doyle (Berwick, Maine) finished eighth overall, wrapping up the 5K course in 20:41.
The host Ephs, meanwhile, had five of the top six finishers to take home the team crown that included the individual title going to senior Emily Shea who completed the course layout in just over 20 minutes at 20:04.
Doyle was followed by Kristen Glennie (Standish, Maine), who finished 17th in 21:06 and Liza French (Middleborough, Mass.) who was right on her heels in 18th at 21:17.
Clark's final two runners were Rachel Donnelly-Cokinos (Monsey, N.Y.) and Emily Monahan-Morang (Freeport, Maine) as that duo finished in 30th and 41st places, respectively.
The NEWMAC Championships will take place on Sunday, November 1 at historic Franklin Park in Dorchester, Mass. The women's race will start at 11:00 a.m.
