Dorchester, Mass. – Freshman sensation Maddy Doyle (South Berwick, Maine) just missed out on all-conference honors with a 19th place finish as the Clark University women's cross country team posted their best finish in the last five seasons at the 2015 New England Women's And Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championship on Sunday morning at historic Franklin Park.

Doyle blazed through the 5K course in 19:20 – a personal best by two seconds – to give the Cougars their first top 20 finisher at the championship event since Erika Roth finished 20th back in 2011.

MIT won its ninth consecutive team title as Engineer junior Maryann Gong led a contingent of MIT runners that had six of the top ten runners.

Doyle was followed by sophomore Kristen Glennie (Standish, Maine) who wrapped up the course in 20:07, good for 46th place, while freshman Liza French (Middleborough, Mass.) was the next Cougar to cross the finish line in 77th place (21:05).

The final two scoring runners for Clark were Rachel Donnelly-Cokinos (Monsey, N.Y.) in 85th place (21:19) and Emily Monahan-Morang (Freeport, Maine) in 103rd place (22:15).

Also competing for the Cougars were Diana Argiles-Castillo (San Jose, Costa Rica) (104th – 22:17), Kayla Rich (Billerica, Mass.) (110th – 22:39), Erin Glennie (Standish, Maine) (125th - 23:27), Alex Jeannotte (Agawam, Mass.) (129th - 23:48), Cate Huynen (Holderness, N.H.) (131st – 24:01) and Claire Pollak (Bethesda, Md.) (143rd – 24:55).

Clark will wrap up its season in two weeks at the NCAA Regional Championships at Harkness State Park in Waterford, Conn.
