Cougars Wrap Up Season With Excellent Showing

Waterford, Conn. – Led by a foursome of top 200 finishers, Clark University wrapped up its 2015 season in excellent fashion with the program's best finish in eight seasons - a 28th place team showing at the NCAA New England Regional Championship on Saturday morning at Harkness State Park.

Williams College, who also won the men's regional title, won with relative ease as four of their five scoring runners finished in the top ten. MIT's Maryann Gong, the 2013 NEWMAC Rookie of the Year and the 2015 NEWMAC Runner of the Year, claimed the individual crown by blazing her way to a time of 21:36 – nearly eight seconds ahead of the second place finisher, Hannah Cole of Williams.

Kristen Glennie (Standish, Maine) was the Cougars' top finisher, turning in a 116th place effort in a time of 23:53. A pair of freshmen followed her with standout showings, beginning with Maddy Doyle (South Berwick, Maine), in 127th place (24:06) and Liza French (Middleborough, Mass.) in 189th (24:57).

Clark's final two scoring runners were Rachel Donnelly-Cokinos (Monsey, N.Y.) and Emily Monahan-Morang (Freeport, Maine) in 198th place and 294th place, respectively.
