Dartmouth, Mass. – In a field that featured schools from all over New England – including some Division I and II programs, the Clark University women's cross country team turned in a 23rd place performance at the Shriners Invitational hosted by UMass-Dartmouth on Saturday morning.
Kristen Glennie (Standish, Maine) was the Scarlet and White's top finisher, turning in a 38th place effort in the 5K layout in 19:33.
She was followed by surging freshman Madeleine Doyle (South Berwick, Maine), who completed the course in 19:50, good for 52nd place. Another freshman – Liza French (Middleborough, Mass.) made her first appearance in the scoring five in her career with a 152nd place showing (21:34).
Yet another newcomer, this time Emily Monahan-Morang (Freeport, Maine), crossed the finish line next for the Cougars, churning out a time of 22:20 and she was followed by Erin Glennie (Standish, Maine), who completed the layout in 22:28.
Clark will be back in action next Saturday when they take part in the Worcester City Championships at Moore State Park.
