Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

New London, Conn. – With their season on the line, Coast Guard overcame a four-run deficit in the opener and a five-run deficit in the nightcap to sweep a streaking Clark University squad 11-10 in ten innings in the first game and 10-9 in the second to earn a spot in the upcoming New England Women's And Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) baseball tournament.

The Cougars entered the day riding a five-game winning streak after winning the series opener 8-4 yesterday and needed just one win today to clinch the final tournament spot while the Bears needed to sweep.

Coast Guard had their backs against the wall all day and never led in the opener until senior Cory Sonnega led off the bottom the tenth with a game-winning solo homer to deep right field after Clark led 10-7 in the eighth.

Coast Guard improves to 16-19 overall and finishes 8-9 in the NEWMAC while Clark drops to 17-20 overall and finishes conference play at 7-10.
