MARLBOROUGH, Mass. – The Clark University baseball team saw three members earn a spot on the 2026 All-NEWMAC Team as announced by the conference office on Wednesday morning.
All-NEWMAC Teams
Senior
Dom Mariani and sophomore
Cole Camara were named to the All-NEWMAC First Team and senior
Michael Soares earned a spot on the All-NEWMAC Second Team. This marks Mariani's second year on an All-NEWMAC Team, while Camara and Soares each received their first recognition.
Mariani (Walpole, Mass.) posted a .369 batting average, led the team with 62 hits and 55 RBI's, added 46 runs, 13 doubles, 12 home runs, and a 1.121 OPS. The senior opened the season with a six-RBI game, three hits, three runs, and belted a homer against St. John Fisher. In NEWMAC play, Mariani posted a 5-6 effort with a career-high seven RBI's, two doubles, a homer, and a run scored. Mariani registered 21 multi-hit games, including seven contests where he recorded three hits or more. He ranks second all-time in a single season with his 12 homers and in conference play hit long balls against MIT, Springfield (Twice), WPI, Wheaton, and Babson (NEWMAC Tournament). His 55 RBI's were the most in a season in program history. Mariani ends his career with 174 hits, 126 RBI's, 126 runs, 38 doubles, 19 home runs, and 17 steals.
Camara (Pawtucket, RI) posted a .374 batting average, 49 hits, 38 runs, 33 RBI's, 17 stolen bases, 10 doubles, five homers, and a 1.108 OPS. He registered 13 multi-hit games and posted a career-high four hit/four double effort with three runs scored against Emerson. The sophomore scored at least two runs in 10 games and stole three bases in contests against WPI and Emerson. He rode a 14-game hit streak at one point in the season, including a contest in which he drove in four runs and scored three against Mass. Maritime. In conference play, Camara elevated his play with a .429 batting average, 24 hits, 20 runs, 11 stolen bases, and 11 RBI's.
Soares (Concord, Mass.) posted a .380 batting average, team-high 60 hits, 114 total bases, 47 RBI's, and 13 homers, 38 runs, 13 doubles, and a 1.178 OPS. His 13 homers on the season were a single season program-record. Soares tallied 20 multi-hit games and added five contests with three or more hits. The senior posted a three-homer game against Grove City, drove in a career-high eight runs, and scored three. Soares roped homers in conference play against Salve Regina, WPI, Babson, and Emerson. He scored at least two runs in 10 different games, including NEWMAC opponents Coast Guard, Emerson, and WPI. Soares batted .333 in the league and drove in 11 runs. He ends his career with 132 hits, 94 RBI's, 85 runs scored, 28 doubles, and 19 homers.
