Field Hockey Shuts Down Bison In 2-0 Win

Box Score

Dudley, Mass. – Clark University scored a pair of goals in the second half and the visiting Cougars blanked Nichols College 2-0 in non-league field hockey action on Tuesday evening.

Game Information

Score: Clark University 2, Nichols College 0
Records: Clark 2, Nichols 0
Location: Vendetti Field, Dudley, Mass.

How It Happened:
Olivia Barksdale
(Fort Washington, Md.) and Liz Grady (Worcester, Mass.) each registered second half goals and the Cougars defeated the Bison for the sixth time in their last seven meetings.

Barksdale put the Scarlet and White ahead 1-0 in the opening moments of the second half and then Grady added an insurance marker – the first of her career – in the 52nd minute when she banged home her own rebound.

Three Stars:
Dani Michaud
(Providence, R.I.) gave up four goals in her last outing on Thursday. That definitely wasn't the case in tonight's matchup as she made four saves and registered a shutout of the host Bison.

Barksdale has been on a tear to start the season, totaling nine points in the first two games. She has 17 career goals in just 19 all-time games – nearly a goal a game average.

Brooke Misbach (Gilford, Conn.) recorded eight saves for Nichols, including denying Barksdale midway through the first half.

She Said It:
"It was a great team win today," said head coach Callie Lekas. "I continue to be impressed with the effort the team is putting in day in and day out."

Up Next:
Clark will continue their busy week on Thursday with a 7:00 p.m. home start against Lasell College.
