Game Information
Score:
Clark University 12, Penn State-Altoona 5
Records: Clark University 9-2; Penn State-Altoona 7-7
Location: Lake Myrtle Sports Complex, Auburndale, Fla.

How It Happened:
Bonicki  might have had the three doubles, but it was the Adam Chochrek (Foxboro, Mass.) three-run blast in the top of the fifth that blew the game open for the Scarlet and White.

Clark jumped out to a 1-0 lead on a Derek Lefebvre (Groton, Mass.) sacrifice fly in the second that brought home Nick Jordan (Seaford, N.Y.).

The Cougars added another in the fourth to go in front 2-0 courtesy of a Ryan Ruhlin (Portland, Maine) RBI single.

Things opened up in the fifth when Bonicki led off with a double and then Teddy Downing (Cambridge, Mass.) was hit by a pitch. That brought up Chochrek, who blasted his second homer of the season to left center field.

Clark continued its offensive assault in the inning as walks to Tyler Hutchinson (Greene, Maine) and Andrew Thibault (Nashua, N.H.) set up Jordan, who drove in a run with a single through the right side. Yet another run scampered home when Rhulin reached on an error and then Jordan scored on a wild pitch. The last run of the frame came when Kyle Shaw (Litchfield, N.H.) hit a sacrifice fly to center that scored Ruhlin.

When the dust settled from the uprising, the Cougars were in front 9-0 in support of Cougar starter Conor Walsh (Marstons Mills, Mass.), who went six innings, allowing just five hits and one earned run.

The Scarlet and White capped their offensive output with three more runs in the eighth. Bonicki doubled home Collin Porter (Brookfield, Conn.) and then Downing pushed Tim Powell (Middletown, R.I.) home on a sacrifice fly. Finally, Hutchinson crushed a double to center that allowed Bonicki to score the trip's final run.

Inside The Boxscore:
Half of the Scarlet and White's hits were for extra bases, while eight different student-athletes had an RBI.

Both Bonicki and Rhulin were 3-for-5 at the plate and Jordan and Hutchinson each scored a pair of runs.

Up Next:
Clark is slated to be in action on Tuesday when the Cougars open up an 11-game homestand against Rivier. First pitch is slated for 3:30 p.m.
