Box Score WORCESTER, MA. – In their season and home opener, the Clark field hockey team moved to 1-0, picking up a 2-1 double overtime victory over the Simmons Sharks.
HIGHLIGHTS
-After a scoreless first half, the Cougars got on the board first with Emma Boland (Redding, Conn) scoring her first goal of the season at the 40:13 mark. Late in the fourth, a Simmons goal tied the game with less than four minutes to play.
-The game remained tied at the end of regulation, and the Cougars and Sharks faced off in double overtime.
-Only thirty-four seconds into the second overtime period, the Cougars capitalized on a corner with a hard shot from Maire O'Donnell (Oak Park, Ill) being tipped past the goalie by Kerry Lefebvre (Freeport, Maine).
-Coach Kelley picks up her first win as the head coach of the Cougars.

-Clark outshot the Sharks 26-15, including 2-0 in the second overtime period.
-Both of Clark's goals were assisted. The first goal was assisted by Carden Maloney and the second goal was assisted by Maria O'Donnell.
