Cougars Split Volleyball Doubleheader at Salisbury

SALISBURY, Md. – The Cougars concluded play in the Sea Gull Classic Saturday and split their two matches for the day, falling in straight sets to Salisbury, before bouncing back with a strong 3-1 win over the Thiel Tomcats. 

In the loss to Salisbury, Ashley Kim (Irvine, Calif) and Paige Kacherian (Rowley, Mass) both paced the Cougars with five kills apiece. Marimo Oka (Fukuoka, Japan) had a stellar outing with twenty digs across three sets. Sophia Torino (Los Angeles, Calif) dished out fifteen assists for Clark.

Against Thiel, Clark won the first set 25-22. Thiel rallied in the second set, and managed to beat the Cougars 25-22. Clark rallied and went on to win 25-16 and 25-14 over the Tomcats in the final two sets. 

The Cougars will take on Keene State at home on Wednesday. The non-conference match is set to begin at 7 p.m.
