Box Score WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark University field hockey team (2-12, 0-6 NEWMAC) dropped a conference game against Springfield (4-8, 1-4 NEWMAC) by a 4-0 margin on Saturday afternoon from Stagg Field.
How it Happened
- Senior Grace Sawyer recorded her first save of the match in the ninth minute and sophomore Greer McCarty fired three straight shots on goal that were saved.
- Springfield scored a late goal in the first to take a 1-0 lead late in the first quarter.
- McCarty attempted another shot in the 19th minute that was saved before the Pride pushed the lead to 2-0 at the end of the second quarter.
- Sophomore Rachael Romain fired a pair of shots in the 33rd and 34th minutes that were saved and senior Kimberlie Asseng recorded a shot on target that was stopped in the 37th minute.
- Sawyer came up with another save in the 39th minute and junior Erin Lally fired a shot on goal in the 47th minute that was stopped.
- Asseng put another shot on goal in the 54th minute that was saved and junior Maire O'Donnell and senior Erin Hynes put final efforts on goal that were stopped before Springfield added another goal in the 56th minute as Springfield won 4-0.
