Box Score BABSON PARK, Mass. – The Clark University volleyball team (9-6, 2-3 NEWMAC) fell in straight sets to Babson (13-1, 5-1 NEWMAC) on Saturday afternoon from the Staake Gymnasium.
The scarlet and white dropped the first set 25-8, the second 25-14, and the third 25-23 to the Beavers.
How it Happened
- The Cougars fell behind early in the first set despite a pair of kills from Claudia Rivera and dropped the set 25-8 with more kills from sophomores Camille Flurry and Sophia Scherrer del Llano.
- Sophomore Victoria Pastor started the second set with a pair of kills and trailed 14-8 early and fell 25-14 in the second despite two kills from Flurry, Scherrer del Llano, and senior Margarita Perez Maza.
- The Cougars took an early 9-8 lead in the third set led by six kills from the team and pushed the lead to 19-13 with two more Scherrer del Llano kills, but were edged 25-23.
Inside the Box Score
- Rivera led the way with seven kills for the Cougars.
- Senior Sophia Torino led the team with 13 assists.
- Oka registered a team-leading seven digs.
- Clark recorded 26 kills, 22 assists, and 31 digs in the contest.
