Box Score SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – The Clark University field hockey team (2-8, 0-3 NEWMAC) fell to Mount Holyoke (2-5, 1-2 NEWMAC) on Saturday afternoon from the MHC Turf by a 4-1 margin.
How it Happened
- Senior Grace Sawyer opened the match with a pair of critical saves within the first six minutes of play before Mount Holyoke added a pair of goals to take an early 2-0 lead.
- Sophomore Rachael Romain created a good chance late in the first with a shot that was saved as Clark trailed 2-0 after one quarter.
- After Mount Holyoke added another goal, junior Erin Lally fired a shot on goal that was saved and Sawyer recorded two more saves before the end of the half.
- Junior Lucinda Orenic and Romain put shots on goal early in the third quarter that were stopped and Sawyer registered three saves in the third as the score remained the same after three.
- The Cougars got on the board early in the fourth as sophomore Greer McCarty found first-year Autumn Golding as Golding found the back of the net,
- The Mount added one more goal late in the fourth.

- The Cougars tallied six shots on goal in the contest and seven overall.
- Sawyer recorded 13 saves.
- Golding's goal was the first of her career.
- McCarty's assist was her second this season.
