Box Score WORCESTER, Mass. – Clark women's soccer (9-5-0, 5-2-0 NEWMAC) dropped a conference contest against Emerson (7-5-0, 4-3-0 NEWMAC) on Wednesday night from Granger Field by a 4-1 margin.
How it Happened
- Senior Mia Advocate fired the first shot of the half in the seventh minute that went just high of the mark and graduate student Sarah Berube serviced in a corner from the right side of the pitch and senior Jamie Joseph headed the shot wide of the mark in the 14th minute.
- The Cougars broke the tie in the 16th minute when Joseph had a shot saved and Advocate followed the shot up and found the back of the net to give Clark a 1-0 lead.
- Junior Siobhan Lounsbury almost pushed the lead to two goals, but had her shot saved in the 20th minute.
- Anna Swisher tied the game for the Lions in the 23rd minute on a shot from outside the box and neither team put another shot on target for the remainder of the half as the score stayed tied 1-1.
- Senior Morgan Small recorded a save on a dangerous chance from Ainslee MacQuarrie in the 51st minute before Emerson took a 2-1 lead in the 57th minute off a shot from Simone Barragan-Shaw.
- Advocate and Lounsbury fired dangerous shots on target in the 68th and 71st minute respectively that were stopped by Emerson.
- The Lions added a pair of goals from Gina Lukoskie and Marie Bou Aziz as Emerson won the match 4-1.
