Box Score BOSTON, Mass. – The Clark University volleyball team (12-11, 3-5 NEWMAC) fell to Emerson (14-7, 4-4 NEWMAC) by a 3-0 margin on Sunday afternoon from the Brown & Plofker Gym.
Clark fell 25-15 in the first set, 25-23 in the second, and 25-20 in the final set.
How it Happened
- The Cougars fell behind 15-12 early despite four kills from junior Claudia Rivera and a pair of service aces from senior Marimo Oka, but fell 25-15 in the first set with a kill from sophomore Victoria Pastor over the final few points of the set.
- Clark led 11-10 in the second set led by service aces from Rivera and senior Bailey Vogel and the teams battled to a 19-19 tie with two more kills from Pastor and kills from sophomores Sofia Scherrer del Llano and Sheyenne Williams.
- The Cougars then led 22-21 with another Williams kill, but the Lions won the set 25-23.
- The third set was tied 9-9 led by two kills from both sophomore Camille Flurry and Scherrer del Llano, but Emerson went on to take a 21-14 lead despite another kill from Flurry.
- Scherrer del Llano ended the match with three more kills and Oka recorded a service ace as Clark fell 25-20.
