Field Hockey Falls To WNE In Season Finale

WORCESTER, Mass.- The Cougars (2-15, 0-8 NEWMAC) wrapped up their season with an 8-2 loss to Western New England (11-5). 
 
First-year Rebecca Murphy and graduate student Anna Joyce both scored for the scarlet and white in the season finale.
 
Following the game, Clark honored 6 seniors and one graduate student, who have contributed 17 wins to the Clark program. The 7 players recognized were Anna Joyce, Kimberlie Asseng, Emma Boland, Erin Hynes, Sydney Lamothe, Hailey Parsons, and Grace Sawyer
 
How it Happened
  • In the very first minute, Murphy puts the Cougars on the board with a goal assisted by Rachael Romain and Asseng.
  • A minute later the Golder Bears evened the score on a goal by Taylor Klesyk.
  • Sawyer made a  save for the scarlet and white early in the second.
  • Joyce gave the Cougars their second goal of the game early in the third. Junior Maggie Herlihy got the assist.
  • Junior Maire O'Donnell put up a shot on goal later in the quarter.
