Field Hockey Drops Conference Match at MIT

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Clark University field hockey team (2-9, 0-4 NEWMAC) dropped a conference contest 9-0 against MIT (7-4. 3-1 NEWMAC) on Tuesday night from Jack Barry Field.

How it Happened

  • The Engineers netted five goals in the first quarter and senior Emma Boland earned a penalty corner in the 15th minute and sophomore Rachael Romain had her shot blocked.
  • Senior Grace Sawyer started the second quarter with four consecutive saves over four minutes of play before MIT added three more goals in the frame.
  • Graduate student Anna Joyce fired a shot on goal in the 44th minute that was saved off another Boland penalty corner.
  • Sawyer recorded five more saves in the fourth quarter as the Cougars fell to MIT.
