Box Score WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark men's basketball team (4-0) completed its three game homestand and extended its winning streak to four as they posted an 83-77 victory over NEC (1-4) on Wednesday night from the Kneller Gymnasium.
How it Happened
- Graduate student Tyler Davern opened the game with a pair of made triples and Saintilus connected on a pair of layups to give Clark an early 10-4 lead before the Pilgrims came back to tie the game at 12-12 with 13:48 to go in the first half.
- After falling behind 19-14, Davern made a pair of free throws and first-year Isaiah Taylor found senior Zackary Mittelstadt off an inbounds pass for three to tie the game at 19-19 before Davern converted an and-one to go up 24-20 with 6:06 left in the first.
- With the game tied 24-24, graduate student Biko Gayman netted two points and sophomore Jordan Richard sparked the team with a pair of made triples as Clark took a 34-32 lead into the half.
- Taylor opened the second half with a pair of made threes and two free throws to help Clark start the second on a 10-0 run to take a 44-32 lead and a Gayman jumper from Davern put the Cougars up 50-38 with 16:50 to go.
- Saintilus then converted an and-one layup and another contested layup with 13:54 left to go up 57-46 before Davern scored the teams next four points to take a 61-50 lead with 12:26 left in the second half.
- Sophomore Kolby Randolph then came in and provided a spark off the bench with a pair of layups to give the Cougars a 69-55 advantage with 9:30 remaining before a layup from graduate student Matthew Waggett extended the lead to 16.
- Another Gayman jumper helped Clark hold a 76-63 lead with 6:20 to go before NEC scored the next seven points, but Gayman ended the run with a triple from the corner off a pass from Taylor to go up 79-70 with 3:37 remaining.
- After NEC came back to within two at 79-77 with 1:35 to go, Gayman missed a three-pointer, but Saintilus came up with a massive offensive rebound and made the layup to push the lead back to four at 81-77 with 0:31 to go and a pair of Davern free throws iced the game as Clark won 83-77.

- Davern led the team with 23 points and 12 rebounds, which was his first double-double of the season.
- Saintilus added 15 points on 5-11 shooting and grabbed nine rebounds.
- Taylor netted 14 points, grabbed nine rebounds, and dished out seven assists.

- Clark grabbed 47 rebounds, shot 78.6 percent from the line, dished out 17 assists, and recorded 13 steals.
