Women's Soccer's Season Ends In NEWMAC Quarterfinals

WORCESTER, Mass.- Clark (11-7,7-3 NEWMAC) saw its season come to a close in a 1-0 loss to Springfield (7-8-2, 4-4-2 NEWMAC) in the NEWMAC Quarterfinals Tuesday.
 
Junior Siobhan Lounsbury put four shots on goal for the Cougars while goalie Morgan Small recorded four saves in the effort.
 
How it Happened
  •  Lounsbury fired a pair of shots on goal for the Cougars in the first 15 minutes.
  • In the 18th minute, Kaleigh Dale of Springfield scored on a penalty kick to give the Pride the lead. 
  • Lounsbury put a header on goal for the scarlet and white late in the half, but SC keeper Amelia Harper made the save.
  • Small made a superb diving stop in the 59th minute to keep the lead at one.
  •  In the 77th minute junior Emma Tziachris launched a rocket that couldn't quite eclipse Springfield's keeper's outstretched hand.
