Box Score WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark women's basketball team (4-3) extended their winning streak to three games with a convincing 63-43 victory over Anna Maria (1-4) on Tuesday afternoon from the Kneller Gymnasium.
Clark held Anna Maria to just 10 points in the second half, with eight coming in the third and two in the fourth. Graduate student Hannah Favaloro grabbed a career-high 28 rebounds in the win.
How it Happened
- Clark started the game on a 7-0 run over the first 3:00 minutes of the game with a three-pointer from sophomore Emma Levesque, a pair of free throws from sophomore Jacqueline Faulise, and a layup from Favaloro and soon pushed the lead to 13-2 with two more points from Faulise, Favaloro, and senior Ginny Benbow.
- Senior Hallie Johnson connected on a three and hit a free throw to help guide Clark to a 20-14 lead after one quarter of play and a three-pointer from senior Cam Richey and a Johnson layup extended the advantage to 25-16 with 8:17 left in the second.
- Sophomore Mariah Harris and Favaloro each made layups as the Amcats pulled within four at 29-25 with 3:43 to go in the second before Benbow connected on a three from Harris as Clark and Anna Maria entered the half tied at 33-33.
- After Anna Maria scored the first four points of the third, Favaloro made a layup and junior Jalin Waters hit a three to take the lead back at 39-37 and Favaloro extended the lead to 44-40 with 2:52 to go in the quarter.
- Clark ended the third on a 7-1 run sparked by five more points from Favaloro and a made layup from Johnson as the Cougars led 51-41 entering the fourth.
- The Cougars opened the fourth on a 10-0 run and held the Amcats scoreless over the first 7:21 of the fourth with threes from Benbow and Richey and layups from Faulise and Favaloro as Clark led 61-41 with 2:39 to go before Johnson made a layup as the Cougars won 63-43 and held the Amcats to two points in the fourth quarter, and 10 total in the second half.
