Box Score WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark men's basketball team (9-0) pushed their winning streak to nine games with a come from behind 74-70 win over Connecticut College (2-4) on Saturday from the Charles B. Luce Fieldhouse.
The nine game winning streak is the programs longest since 2000-01 when they won 11 straight and the best start since 1985-86 when they won 13 straight to start the year.
How it Happened
- Connecticut College took an early 15-12 lead despite five points from both first-year Isaiah Taylor and graduate student Tyler Davern and a three-pointer from senior Zackary Mittelstadt and Clark then got layups from first-year Kyle Jackson and graduate student Matthew Waggett and a three from sophomore Mikey O'Brien to take a 19-17 advantage with 7:23 to go in the first half.
- Senior Gralen Vereen hit a three and Davern made three layups to close out the first half as the Camels led 31-28 at the break.
- Sophomore Bruce Saintilus connected on a triple and a Vereen layup helped the Cougars pull within two and another Saintilus three kept the deficit at two in a 44-42 game with 13:26 to go.
- Jackson gave Clark a lead with a three, but Conn College pushed the lead to seven before Taylor scored the Cougars next seven points and two Davern free throws tied the game at 54-54 with 6:58 remaining.
- With 5:13 remaining, Gayman connected on a three from Davern to tie the contest at 61-61 after the teams traded buckets before Taylor and Davern made layups to take a 65-61 lead with 4:04 to go.
- After the Camels pulled within one, Taylor buried a three and a jumper with 1:35 remaining to go up 70-64 and Taylor made free throws with 0:31 left to take a 72-67 lead.
- The Camels made a three with 0:16 to go and Taylor went 1-2 from the line and Clark's defense forced a turnover and a Gayman free throw pushed the Cougars to a 74-70 win.

- Davern added 18 points and grabbed four rebounds.
- Saitilus also reached double-figures with 10 points.
