WORCESTER, Mass. – Clark women's soccer (3-3-0, 0-1-0 NEWMAC) dropped a back-and-forth non-conference match to Trinity (3-1-1) by a 1-0 margin on Tuesday night from Granger Field.

How it Happened

• Junior Emma Tziachris got the Cougars offense going early as she fired a shot on goal from outside the box in the fourth minute that was saved by Jennifer Stuart.
• Both defenses then set the tone as neither team recorded a shot on goal over the next 20 minutes before Cassie Lee fired a shot on target that was stopped by senior netminder Morgan Small.
• Small again came up with an important save in the 30th minute on a shot from Lexi Hasbrouck to keep the score tied and it would stay that way through the first 45 minutes of action.
• Early in the second half, the Bantams offense applied pressure to the Cougar backline, but Small and the defense kept them out of the goal as Small registered two more saves in the 57th and 59th minutes of play.
• The Cougars got their best look on goal of the match in the 65th minute when senior Sarah Berube serviced in a ball that senior Jamie Joseph headed on target, but Stuart made a jumping save.
• Both teams then traded possession and eyed that game-winner over the next 15 minutes before Cassie Lee found the back of the net in the 81st minute to give Trinity the edge.
• First-year Cassandra Trevino recorded Clark's final shot attempt on goal in the 83rd minute, but was denied.
