Box Score WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark men's basketball team (14-1, 3-1 NEWMAC) registered a convincing 84-70 victory against Wheaton (5-9, 0-3 NEWMAC) on Monday night from the Kneller Gymnasium.
How it Happened
- Clark took an early 10-2 lead sparked by five points from graduate student Biko Gayman and a triple from first-year Isaiah Taylor and four points from graduate student Tyler Davern helped give the Cougars a 17-7 advantage with 12:58 to go in the first half.
- Graduate student Matthew Waggett and sophomore Mikey O'Brien made layups before a Davern three-pointer extended the lead to 24-11 with 10:50 left in the first half and four points from Taylor helped Clark go on a 7-3 run as they led 31-14.
- First-year Kyle Jackson then made a free throw and a triple before Taylor added four more points to propel the Cougars to a 42-27 advantage and Gayman netted five more points before the half as Clark took a 49-29 lead into the locker room.
- Wheaton opened the second half with eight unanswered points before Taylor netted four of his own to push the lead back to 16 and a three-pointer from sophomore Kolby Randolph pushed the lead 60-43 with 15:07 remaining in the contest.
- After the Lyons pulled within 11 of the lead, sophomore Bruce Saintilus was fouled shooting a three and made all three free throws and a Taylor layup extended the advantage back to 67-51 with 10:24 to go.
- Taylor connected on a triple with 6:14 remaining as Wheaton came within 10 of the lead to extend it back to 13 and two points from Taylor, Saintilus, and Davern gave Clark a 78-60 lead with 4:01 left in the contest.
- Saintilus and O'Brien each scored three points down the stretch as Clark pulled away with a 84-70 victory.

- Taylor led the team with 23 points, while recording five rebounds and four steals.
- Saintilus added 15 points, grabbed five rebounds and recorded four steals.
- Gayman and Davern also reached double-figures with 12 and 10 points respectively.
- Clark grabbed 32 rebounds, made nine threes, dished out 17 assists, and recorded 20 steals, while forcing 25 turnovers.
