Box Score WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark women's basketball team (6-11, 0-5 NEWMAC) fell to Wheaton (6-10, 1-4 NEWMAC) by a 65-51 margin on Monday night from the Kneller Gymnasium.
How it Happened
- Wheaton took an early 10-2 lead despite a pair of free throws from senior Emily Sifferlen before junior Jalin Waters connected on a three and a layup from Sifferlen with 1:53 left helped Clark pull to within seven of the lead at 15-8 after one.
- Sophomore Mariah Harris made a jumper early in the second and a layup from senior Cam Richey pulled Clark within seven at 20-13 before Wheaton went on a 9-2 run with the two points from the Cougars coming from Sifferlen and Sifferlen hit a three-pointer before the break as Wheaton led 29-18 at the half.
- Graduate student Hannah Favaloro netted Clark's first four points of the second half and a Richey jumper got Clark within 12 and a three-point play from Favaloro with 4:19 left in the third kept the deficit at 12 at 41-29.
- Sifferlen scored six of the Cougars final eight points of the third quarter with the other bucket coming from sophomore Mariah Harris as Clark pulled within nine at 46-37 after three.
- A pair of Favaloro free throws got Clark as close as seven in the fourth quarter before Wheaton scored the game's next seven points prior to Sifferlen ending the run in what was now a 53-40 game with 5:16 to go.
- Sophomore Emma Levesque hit a three-pointer down the stretch, while fellow sophomore Alaina Schatzabel, Sifferlen, and Favaloro made layups as Wheaton won 65-51.

- Sifferlen led the way with 20 points on 7-13 shooting and registered six steals.
- Favaloro recorded her ninth double-double of the year with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
