Box Score WORCESTER, Mass. – Clark women's soccer (5-4, 1-1 NEWMAC) registered their first NEWMAC win of the year and third straight win with a 1-0 victory over WPI (4-5-1, 0-2-1 NEWMAC) on Saturday afternoon from Granger Field.
How it Happened
- Graduate student Jamie Joseph gave Clark an early 1-0 lead as junior Emily Rooney found Joseph running up the pitch and sent in a through ball to Joseph, who beat Kelsey Leach in the ninth minute of action.
- Lexi Carim fired a shot on target in the 17th minute that sophomore Anabella White recorded a save on to keep Clark up 1-0.
- Senior Siobhan Lounsbury nearly pushed the lead to 2-0 in the 36th minute, but her shot hit the post.
- Sophomore Isabella Ramirez had her shot saved in the 45th minute by Leach as Clark took a 1-0 advantage into the half.
- In the 62nd minute, graduate student Mia Advocate collected the ball off a corner kick and had her shot saved by Leach.
- Clark's defense and midfield continued to dominate the contest as the Engineers didn't register a shot on goal in the second half until the 89th minute with a shot by Molly Vincent that was saved by White as Clark registered a 1-0 victory.
