Box Score NEW LONDON. Conn. – The Clark University volleyball team (11-14) closed out non-conference play with a thrilling 3-2 win over Connecticut College (7-12) on Saturday afternoon from the Luce Fieldhouse.
Clark won the first set 26-24, fell 25-13 in the second set, fell 25-16 in the third set, won 25-21 in the fourth set, and won 17-15 in the final set.
How it Happened
- Clark took a 12-8 lead early in the first set led by three kills from senior Claudia Rivera and two kills from junior Victoria Pastor.
- The Cougars pushed the lead to 21-17 with three more kills from Rivera and one from junior Sheyenne Williams and Clark came away with a 26-24 win in the first set capped by a junior Camille Flurry service ace and a Williams kill.
- Clark fell behind 7-6 in the second set as Rivera tallied four more kills and sophomore Yvanna Torres recorded a service ace.
- After the Camels won the second set, they took a 10-4 lead in the third set despite another service ace from Torres, but Clark batted back to make it a 13-11 game with two more kills from Pastor.
- Connecticut College won the third set 25-16 and Clark took an early 8-4 lead in the fourth set sparked by a kill from senior Cameron Gill.
- The match then was tied seven times during the rest of the set led by two more kills from Rivera and two from Flurry and Clark won the fourth set 25-21 in the fourth set.
- The Cougars took an 8-7 edge in the final set led by two kills from Gill and a service ace from Rivera and down the stretch, Pastor recorded the final two kills of the match to win 17-15.

- Rivera led the team with 18 kills.
