ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Sophomore Ruby Krasnow posted a fifth-place finish and earned a spot on the All-NEWMAC Team at the 2022 NEWMAC Championships from Highland Park on the Mark Coogan Course on Sunday morning.
The Cougars finished 10th overall with 265 points. MIT won the event with a score of 30.

Ruby had an amazing race placing 5th! She ran a strategic race hanging in the middle of the pack for the first half of the race and making a big move to earn her 5th place! Lily, Siobhan, and Sophia arrived not feeling well, but grinded it out anyways proving they've got heart and will do what it takes for the team! Emmy had an amazing race only second off her PR on a far more challenging course! Abby PRed for an amazing race proving her love for hills is her super power! Meg hit a big PR and left it all on the course! She finished 5th for Clark and absolutely ran her heart out! Wynne had an amazing day proving she can handle a fast start and stay strong and steady till the end!
How it Happened
- Krasnow finished fifth overall with a mark of 22:17.9 in the 6k event and was just behind MIT's Kate Sanderson who posted a time of 22:15.1.
- Krasnow earned her first All-NEWMAC honor and is on pace to compete at Nationals in a couple of weeks.
- Sophomore Lily Carey placed 94th with a time of 26:23.2, which was good for second on the team.
- First-year Abigail Gahagan finished 103rd with a mark of 27:03.2 and fellow first-year Emmy Udry placed fourth on the team with a time of 28:16.0, which were also good for PR's in their NEWMAC Championship debuts.
- Sophomore Megan Gohn (28:59.4), first-year Siobhan Connolly (29:11.2), and sophomore Wynne Dromey (30:53.2) rounded out the top seven for the Cougars.
What's Next
The Cougars will be back in action on Saturday, November 12 when they compete at the NCAA East Regionals.
