Box Score WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark field hockey team (5-6, 1-3 NEWMAC) welcomed MIT (8-3, 3-1 NEWMAC) to Granger Field on Tuesday night and fell 3-0 to the Engineers in a rainy contest.
How it Happened
- First-year Loren Root recorded the first save of the match in the 11th minute on a shot from Alice Zehner as both defenses dominated the first quarter of play.
- Root registered her second save of the contest in the 17th minute as Ashley Lederman fired a shot on target and the Engineers took a 1-0 edge in the 22nd minute when Bailey McIntyre found Ashley Lederman.
- With the game remaining at 1-0 at the half, the Engineers put three shots on goal early that were saved and first-year Ciaran Cubbage nearly tied the game in the 35th minute, but her shot went just wide of the goal.
- MIT added their second goal of the contest in the 42nd minute off a penalty corner pass from Jordan Dattero that found Liberty Ladd.
- Root recorded a save on a shot from Marissa Liu in the 49th minute, but the Engineers extended the lead to 3-0 off the rebound.
- Root registered three more saves down the stretch as MIT came away with a 3-0 win.
