Box Score NEW LONDON, Conn. – Clark women's soccer (6-4-1, 2-1-1 NEWMAC) battled with Coast Guard (4-5-2, 1-3-1 NEWMAC) for 90 minutes and came away with a 2-2 tie on Saturday afternoon from Nitchman Field
How it Happened
- Junior Emily Rooney gave Clark an early 1-0 lead with a shot on target that beat Emily Scharnitky off a pass from senior Jamie Stern in the 11th minute.
- Sophomore Isabella Ramirez fired a shot in the 23rd minute that went high and Rooney nearly pushed the lead to 2-0 in the 43rd minute, but Scharnitky recorded a save as Clark led 1-0 at the half after the Cougars defense held Coast Guard without a shot on goal in the first half.
- Graduate student Jamie Joseph fired a shot to the bottom left of the goal that was stopped and the Bears added a goal in the 51st minute to tie the game at 1-1.
- Chase Merrick gave Coast Guard a 2-1 lead in the 71st minute, but Stern tied the game at 2-2 in the 83rd minute with a penalty shot as the game ended in a 2-2 draw.

- Clark attempted eight shots with five of them going on goal.
- Stern's goal was her fourth this season and seventh of her career and her assist was her first this year and the second of her career.
- Rooney's goal was her third of the year and fourth of her career.
