Box Score SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – The Clark women's basketball team (7-12, 1-6 NEWMAC) rolled to a 74-39 conference victory over Mount Holyoke (2-12, 0-7 NEWMAC) on Saturday afternoon from the Howard Gymnasium.
How it Happened
- Clark jumped out to an early 13-6 lead led by six points from senior Emily Sifferlen, four from graduate student Hannah Favaloro, and a three-pointer from sophomore Emma Levesque and ended the first quarter with a 22-9 advantage sparked by four points from first-year Megan Swedberg.
- Levesque scored Clark's first four points of the second quarter before a layup from sophomore Alaina Schatzabel made a layup to go up 28-16 with 5:44 left in the second.
- Favaloro scored six points in the final 1:42 of the first half to help the Cougars carry a 38-20 lead into the half.
- Sifferlen netted six of Clark's first 10 points of the second half as the Cougars held a 48-22 advantage with 5:02 left in the third before a pair of Favaloro and a senior Cam Richey layup put Clark up 54-22 and a Richey jumper with two seconds left in the quarter gave Clark a 56-26 lead heading into the fourth quarter,
- Junior Sarah Zambrano led the Cougars with five points in the fourth and Sifferlen added a triple while seven Clark players scored in the fourth as the scarlet and white came away with a 74-39 win.
