Box Score NORWOOD, Mass.- Clark (1-3, 0-1 NEWMAC) was defeated 22-2 by the Lyons of Wheaton (5-1, 1-0 NEWMAC) from the Nordin Field on Saturday afternoon in the Morgan's Message game.
How it Happened
• Junior goalie Maddie Conners picked up her first save of the game four minutes in and had another four saves in the first quarter.
• Fellow junior Kiley Simmons put a shot on goal for the Cougars late in the first, being saved by the Lyons.
• Simmons, sophomore Claudia Oakleaf, and first-year Erin Lucas rifled off shots on goal in the second, keeping pressure on Wheaton.
• 17 seconds into the second half the, Cougars broke the shutout on a laser from Oakleaf that found the net, making the score 12-1 Wheaton. Simmons assisted on the play.
• Early in the fourth, Oakleaf found the back of the net for a second time, this time being set up by sophomore Jacqueline Faulise. The goal made it 18-2 Wheaton.
• Clark traded shots with Wheaton late in the fourth, falling 22-2 in the end.
