Box Score MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Clark University baseball team (1-1) played their second game of their road trip and recorded their first win of the season with an 11-4 win over York (Pa.) (1-4) on Tuesday afternoon from Griffith Field.
How it Happened
- Sophomore Andres Hulfachor struck out the first two batters of the game and got the final out of the first inning in his collegiate debut on the bump.
- Graduate student Chris Radovic belted a three-run homer in the bottom of the first to give the Cougars a 3-0 edge and after a triple from fellow graduate student Trevor Ham, sophomore Billy Sullivan hit a sacrifice fly to give Clark a 4-0 lead after the first inning.
- York got a double to open the second inning before Hulfachor set down the next three batters and retired the side in the top of the third to keep the score at 4-0.
- The scarlet and white added to the lead in the bottom of the fourth when first-year Carter Doran drove in fellow first-year Matthew Kalinak to extend the lead to 5-0.
- Hulfachor continued to deal in the fifth and sixth innings as he retired six of the seven batters he faced.
- York cut the deficit to three at 5-2 in the top of the seventh on a two RBI double and added two more runs in the top of the eighth as Clark led 5-4 after the top of the eighth.
- The Cougars exploded for six runs in the bottom of the eighth, with an RBI going to Kalinak on a hit by pitch, a two RBI single from sophomore Anthony LoCasto, a two RBI single from junior Ryan Caulfield, and a RBI triple by Radovic helped propel Clark to an 11-4 win.
