Box Score WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark University baseball team (12-9, 2-5 NEWMAC) fell 11-3 to Coast Guard (15-7, 6-1 NEWMAC) on Friday afternoon from Granger Field.
How It Happened
- Coast Guard scored two runs in the top of the first inning and first-year Carter Doran opened the bottom of the first with a single, but was later thrown out trying to steal second in a 2-0 game.
- After the Bears added three more runs, sophomore Anthony LoCasto got on base in the bottom of the second, but was left on base.
- Senior Kevin Irwin entered the game on the mound in the top of the third and retired the side in order in both the third and fourth inning while Clark was able to get two base runners on in both the third and fourth, but were unable to add a run.
- Graduate student Chris Radovic got Clark on the board with a sacrifice fly to right field that scored Doran and Clark cut the deficit to 8-2 in the bottom of the seventh with a homer from first-year CJ Johnson to left field.
- Senior Andrea Casabianca added Clark's final run of the game with a homer to left field to lead off the bottom of the eighth.
