Box Score BOSTON, Mass. – The Clark University women's lacrosse team (2-9, 0-6 NEWMAC) fell to Emerson (9-4, 3-3 NEWMAC) 16-4 on Saturday afternoon from Rotch Field.
How it Happened
- After junior Maddie Conners opened the game with a pair of critical saves, sophomore Angela Borelli gave Clark an early 1-0 lead when she buried a free position shot with 12:08 to go in the first.
- Conners recorded two more saves in a defensive minded first quarter as Clark trailed 2-1.
- First-year Meghan Fogarty earned a free position shot with 9:24 remaining in the second quarter, but had her shot saved and junior Kiley Simmons and first-year Aubrey Conners each put shots on goal that were saved in the second.
- Aubrey Conners added a goal right before the half as Clark trailed 8-2.
- Out of the half, Maddie Conners recorded three early saves and Aubrey Conners sent a free position shot just wide of the mark as the Cougars fell behind 15-2 after three.
- Fogarty and sophomore Greer McCarty each scored in the fourth quarter and Clark's defense held Emerson to only one goal in the final 15 minutes as Clark fell 16-4.
