Box Score WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark University baseball team's (15-15, 4-11 NEWMAC) played its first of a three-game series against WPI (14-17, 4-11 NEWMAC) and came away with a 4-3 victory on Friday night from Fitton Field on the campus of Holy Cross.
How it Happened
- Junior Max Moss took the mound for Clark and retired the Engineers in order in the bottom of the first and second innings.
- Sophomore Billy Sullivan recorded the Cougars first hit of the game in the top of the third with a single up the middle and came around to score on an RBI single from junior Ryan Caulfield to give Clark a 1-0 advantage.
- After Moss tossed another scoreless inning in the third, the Engineers tied the game in the bottom of the fourth with an RBI double.
- Sophomore Anthony LoCasto doubled down the left field line to open the fifth and came around to score on an RBI triple from Caulfield to give Clark a 2-1 advantage.
- Graduate student Chris Radovic plated the Cougars third run of the game with an RBI ground out to third that brought home Caulfield.
- Clark loaded the bases in the top of the sixth and scored another run when first-year Carter Doran was hit by a pitch and sophomore Samuel Farrell came around to score to take a 4-1 lead.
- WPI added a run in the seventh and got to within one in the ninth with a homer to left field, but junior Michael Carterud came in with a runner on second in the ninth and struck out two batters, including a strike out swinging to give Clark a 4-3 win.
Inside the Box Score
- Caulfield went 2-5 from the dish with two RBI's, a run scored, and a triple.
- Farrell and Sullivan both went 2-4, with a run scored.
- Moss tossed 8.0 innings on the mound, only allowing three runs and struck out 10 batters.

Clark will return to the diamond tomorrow for its senior day against WPI with a doubleheader beginning at 12:00 p.m.
