Box Score 2 WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark University baseball team's (16-16, 5-12 NEWMAC) ended NEWMAC play by taking two out of a total of three games over the weekend after splitting the games today with WPI (15-18, 5-12) on Saturday afternoon on Senior Day from Granger Field.
Prior to the game, senior Kevin Irwin and graduate students Chris Radovic, Trevor Ham, Sean Savage, and Torsten Sloan Anderson were honored for their contributions to Clark baseball prior to the games.
Game One: WPI 7, Clark 6
- Graduate student Steven Mooney recorded Clark's first hit of the game in the bottom of the first with a single to right center, but he was unable to score as WPI led 3-0.
- Clark cut into the lead in the bottom of the second with an RBI single from senior Andrea Casabianca that scored first-year CJ Johnson as the Cougars trailed 3-1.
- WPI pushed the lead to 6-1 in the top of the fourth, but the Cougars chipped into the lead in the bottom of the fifth with an RBI triple from junior Connor Rulinck and an RBI single from Ham ad Clark trailed 6-3.
- After WPI added a run, junior Anthony Keefe belted an RBI double to center field and Rulnick recorded another RBI with a double to left that scored Keefe to make it 7-5.
- The Cougars got to within one when Johnson recorded an RBI double down the line that scored Mooney to make it 7-6 in the bottom of the ninth, but WPI got out of the jam to win 7-6.
Game Two: Clark 16, WPI 10
- After a scoreless first inning, WPI plated three runs in the top of the second, but Clark's offense responded with an RBI double from Ham that scored sophomore Samuel Farrell as the Engineers led 3-1.
- Radovic got the Cougars within one in the bottom of the third with an RBI single that plated first-year Carter Doran.
- WPI added another run in the top of the fourth, but Clark's offense exploded with six runs sparked by a two-RBI double from sophomore Billy Sullivan, a two-RBI single from Doran, and a two-run homer from Radovic as the Cougars led 8-4.
- WPI regained the lead in the top of the sixth, but again the Cougars offense responded with five runs as Radovic was hit by a pitch to score a run, Doran scored on a wild pitch, Keefe and Sullivan recorded RBI's as Clark led 13-9.
- Radovic plated three insurance runs in the bottom of the seventh when he belted a three-run homer to left center to give the Cougars a 16-9 lead and Clark held on to win 16-10.

The Cougars will conclude their season on Tuesday with a two-game series against Salve Regina beginning at 1:30 p.m.
