Box Score NORTON, Mass. – The Clark University baseball team (10-6, 1-2 NEWMAC) dropped a NEWMAC contest against Wheaton (10-7. 3-0 NEWMAC) by a 12-1 margin on Tuesday afternoon from Sidell Stadium.
How It Happened
- Junior Ryan Caulfield was the first Cougar to reach base in the game with a walk in the top of the first, but was unable to score before the Lyons plated six runs in the bottom of the first.
- Graduate student Trevor Ham and first-year Matthew Kalinak each reached base in the top of the second and got to second and third before Wheaton was able to get out of the inning.
- Sophomore Maxwell Gitlin threw a scoreless third and fourth inning that also saw a base hit from junior Connor Rulnick in the fourth as neither team scored.
- Junior Anthony Keefe recorded Clark's next hit in the top of the eighth with a single through the right side.
- Graduate student Chris Radovic belted a homer to left center in the top of the ninth for the Cougars lone run of the game.
Inside the Box Score
- Radovic's homer was his fifth of the season and the RBI was his 14th.
What's Next
Clark will return to the field on Saturday afternoon when they welcome MIT to Granger Field for a doubleheader beginning at 11:00 a.m.
