Box Score WESTON, Mass. – The Clark field hockey team (2-3) recorded its second straight game with a convincing 4-2 win against Regis (1-3) on Tuesday night from Regis Stadium.
Junior Greer McCarty led the team with three goals in the contest.
How it Happened
- McCarty gave the Cougars an early 1-0 lead in the third minute with a shot off a pass from senior Abbe Cravinho.
- Sophomore Autumn Golding and first-year Ciaran Cubbage nearly gave Clark a 2-0 advantage in the first, but had both of their shots saved as the Cougars led 1-0 after the first quarter.
- Cravinho nearly added to the lead in the 17th minute when she had her shot saved and McCarty extended the Cougars lead to 2-0 in the 22nd minute with her second goal of the game, with the assist going to Golding.
- After Clark's defense stopped three straight penalty corners, Cravinho pushed the lead to 3-0 in the 29th minute when junior Rachael Romain found her and she beat the goalie.
- Right out of the half, McCarty netted her third goal of the game in the 35th minute with a shot off the pass from Golding to take a 4-0 lead.
- First-year Loren Root recorded her first two saves of the match late in the third quarter with saves on two shots from Frankie Alley as Clark held a 4-0 edge after three quarters of action.
- Romain and Cubbage each fired shots on goal in the fourth quarter and Regis added two goals late, but the Cougars hung on to win 4-2.
