Box Score DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The Clark field hockey team (3-4, 0-1 NEWMAC) traveled to UMass Dartmouth (2-3) and came away with a convincing 4-2 win on Tuesday night from Cressy Field.
How it Happened
- Graduate student Kimberlie Asseng took three penalty corners and first-year Alison Kopec fired a shot on goal in the first quarter as Clark dominated possession, but the score remained 0-0 after one.
- The Corsairs took a 1-0 lead in the 16th minute on a shot from Kylie Dias and Clark answered with a goal of their own as Asseng found the back of the cage in the 30th minute.
- Right before the clock expired in the first half, sophomore Autumn Golding was able to beat the goalie to extend the lead to 2-1 at the half off a nice feed from senior Abbe Cravinho.
- Cravinho nearly pushed the lead to two goals in the 31st minute, but had her shot saved and UMass Dartmouth tied the game at 2-2 in the 36th minute on a shot from Harley Hodge.
- First-year Ciaran Cubbage gave Clark the lead back in the 40th minute as junior Greer McCarty and Kopec earned assists on the goal as the Cougars led 3-2.
- Kopec gave Clark an insurance goal to open up the fourth quarter off a feed from Cravinho as the Cougars extended their advantage to 4-2 in the 50th minute.
- The Cougars defense held UMass Dartmouth without a shot on goal over the final 10 minutes of play as Clark earned a 4-2 win.
