Five Goals Push Women's Soccer Past Framingham State

WORCESTER, Mass. – Clark women's soccer (3-4) netted five goals as the Cougars came away with a convincing 5-0 win over Framingham State (0-9) on Monday night from Granger Field.

How it Happened

  • Graduate student Mia Advocate and senior Emma Tziachris nearly gave Clark a 1-0 edge within the first two minutes of play, but Advocate's shot was saved and Tziachris' shot hit the crossbar.
  • Junior Emily Rooney, senior Siobhan Lounsbury, and senior Jamie Stern each put shots on target that were saved between the 14th and 26th minute before Lounsbury found the back of the net with a shot that was set up by first-year Jayme Brown and graduate student Jamie Joseph in the 28th minute to give Clark a 1-0 edge.
  • Sophomore Isabella Ramirez extended the lead to 2-0 in the 42nd minute with a shot after a feed from Joseph and Ramirez beat the keeper as Clark took a 2-0 edge into the half.
  • Stern pushed the lead to 3-0 in the 47th minute off a pass from Tziacrhis and Stern fired the ball past the keeper.
  • Junior Anika Floeck put a shot on target that was saved to earn a corner and sophomore Cassandra Trevino serviced a ball in from the corner that found the head of first-year Cassidy Hubbard and she beat the goalie to make it 4-0.
  • Trevino netted Clark's fifth goal of the match in the 79th minute with a shot from the left side of the pitch that beat the goalie as Clark went on to win 5-0.
