Box Score WALTHAM, Mass. – The Clark University volleyball team (9-6) traveled to Red Auerbach Arena for a non-conference contest against Brandeis (9-5) on Wednesday night, but fell 3-0 to the Judges.
Brandeis won the first set 25-18, 25-21 in the second set, and 25-14 in the third set.
How it Happened
- The Cougars fell behind 8-5 early in the first set despite a pair of kills from junior Victoria Pastor and Clark cut it to four later in the set sparked by a pair of service aces from graduate student Marimo Oka and two kills from senior Claudia Rivera in a 17-13 game.
- Junior Sofia Scherrer del Llano recorded a kill down the stretch, but the Judges pulled away with a 25-18 win in set one.
- The two teams battled early in the second set as Brandeis led 10-9 with Rivera recording three kills and a kill from graduate student Margarita Perez Maza and another Pastor kill made it a 12-10 second set.
- The Cougars took advantage of a pair of attacking and ballhandling errors and got a kill from Rivera to make it a 20-18 set and Scherrer del Llano took over late in the set with two kills, but the Judges came away with a 25-21 win.
- Brandeis led the third set 9-5 despite a kill and a service ace from junior Camille Flurry and the Judges then went on a 10-3 run to take a 19-8 lead in the final set.
- Pastor and senior Cameron Gill recorded kills down the stretch and Rivera registered a service ace as Clark got to within seven at 21-14, but Brandeis came away with a 25-14 win in the final set.

- The Cougars registered 22 kills, dished out 22 assists, and recorded 48 digs.
- Rivera recorded a team-leading six kills.
