Box Score WORCESTER, Mass. – Clark women's soccer (1-1) registered its first victory of 2022 with an emphatic 4-0 win over Worcester State (0-2) on Saturday afternoon from Granger Field.
Senior Jamie Stern led the Cougars offense with two goals on the day. Graduate student Mia Advocate and junior Anika Floeck added the other two Clark goals in the game.
How it Happened
- Advocate gave Clark an early lead as she found the back of the net off a nice feed from sophomore Isabel Echeverry in the 16th minute of action.
- The Cougars then extended the lead to 2-0 in the 19th minute when sophomore Cassandra Trevino played the corner short to Stern and the senior dribbled left and beat the goalie to the left side of the goal.
- Stern pushed the Clark advantage to 3-0 in the 25th minute with a free kick that found the back of the net.
- Sophomore Anabella White recorded her first save of the contest off a corner from the Lancers and stopped the header in the 36th minute.
- Stern registered Clark's last shot on goal before the half, but this time had it saved as the Cougars took a 3-0 lead into the half.
- White made an early stop in the second half before Floeck beat her defender right and put her shot into the back left corner of the net to give Clark a 4-0 edge in the 67th minute.
- Junior Emily Rooney and sophomore Carly Slaybaugh each put shots on target down the stretch as Clark came away with a 4-0 victory.
