WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark women's soccer team (7-3-3, 2-3-2 NEWMAC) closed out a two-game homestand and played in their play with pride game against Wellesley (3-4-4, 2-2-3 NEWMAC) on Saturday afternoon from Granger Field and battled to a 1-1 draw.
How it Happened
- Clark jumped out to an early 1-0 lead off a pass from graduate student Siobhan Lounsbury up the pitch that found fellow graduate student Jamie Stern and Stern found the back of the net.
- Just over two minutes later, Remi Fernandez netted a goal from outside the box to tie the match at 1-1.
- Lounsbury nearly extended the lead to 2-1, but had her shot stopped by Riley McNair in the 17th minute, which went down as the final shot on target of the half as the team's went into the half tied 1-1.
- Junior Anabella White recorded a save on a shot from Paige Sangston in the 53rd minute and in the 66th and 67th minute, junior Andrea Mortimer serviced in a pair of corners.
- Junior Isabella Ramirez attempted Clark's final shot of the match in the 74th minute, but the shot went just wide as the Cougars played to a 1-1 draw.
