WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark men's swimming and diving team opened their 2023-24 campaign at the Worcester City Championships on Saturday from WPI with a third-place finish.

How it Happened

• In the 200-yard freestyle relay, Daniel Smith, Tyler Broderick, Bradyn Potter, and Nick Cordell placed 10th overall with a time of 1:36.00.
• Michael Villalba, Rowan Compton, Alex Bielecki, and Owen Powers clocked a time of 1:40.53 in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
• Bielecki placed seventh overall in the 100-yard breaststroke with a mark of 1:05.68 and Broderick (1:06.11) finished ninth.
• In the 200-yard freestyle event, Potter led the team with a time of 1:58.48.
• Compton placed 11th overall in the 200-yard butterfly with a mark of 2:13.78.
• In the 100-yard backstroke, Villalba (1:02.65) and Sam Bier (1:03.70) competed.
• Bier finished 11th in the 500-yard freestyle event with a time of 5:24.63.
• In the 200-yard medley relay, Cordell, Broderick, Compton, and Smith recorded a time of 1:47.81.
• Smith led the team with a mark of 23.95 in the 50-yard freestyle event.
• In the 400-yard medley relay. Compton, Broderick, Smith, and Villalba clocked a time of 3:57.17.
• Bielecki later placed seventh in the 1000-yard freestyle event with a mark of 11:04.27 and 10th in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:24.68).
• In the 400-yard freestyle relay, Smith, Broderick, Cordell, and Potter clocked a time of 3:44.25.

What's Next
Clark will return to the water on Saturday with a road meet at Bridgewater State starting at 2:00 p.m.
