Men's Tennis Wins Home-Opener 7-2 Against Gordon

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark men's tennis team (3-1) played their home-opener against Gordon (0-2) on Wednesday afternoon and came away with a convincing 7-2 win from the Corash Tennis Courts.

How it Happened
  • First-years Edward Shepherd-Johnson and Aris Krikorian began the afternoon with a convincing 8-3 victory in number one doubles against Hall and Noel.
  • Juniors Ryan Hovey and first-year Adham Seraj registered an 8-3 win against Benthem and Wellborn in number three doubles.
  • Senior Tanner Honnef and sophomore Graham Russo were able to win four games against Bodner and Riester, but fell 8-4.
  • Shepherd-Johnson also recorded a victory in singles with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Hall in number one action.
  • Kirkorian battled with Bodner in number two singles and went three sets, taking the first 6-2, falling 7-6 in the second set, and winning 10-8 in the deciding set.
  • Honnef won in straight sets with a 7-6, 6-1 victory over Riester in number three play.
  • Russo topped Noel 6-0, 6-3 in number four action.
  • Hovey came away with a 6-3, 6-2 win in number five singles.
  • Junior Aidan Hurtado won seven games across the two sets in number six play, but dropped the match 6-3, 6-4.
What's Next
Clark will return to the court on Saturday, October 14 with a home match against Wentworth beginning at 12:00 p.m. from the Corash Tennis Courts.
