Box Score BOSTON, Mass. – The Clark women's basketball team (10-13, 1-7 NEWMAC) traveled to Emerson (8-14, 3-4 NEWMAC) on Wednesday night and led through three quarters, before the Lions came away with a 74-68 win from Brown and Plofker Gym.
How it Happened
- Clark opened the game on a 9-2 run sparked by four points from graduate student Cam Richey, a made three-pointer from junior Jacqueline Faulise, and a made layup from junior Alaina Schatzabel with 6:45 left in the first quarter.
- Senior Sarah Zambrano and Schatzabel each scored four points over the next three minutes as Clark held a 17-8 lead with 3:12 remaining in the first.
- Richey, Faulise, and junior Mariah Harris combined to score six points to close out the first quarter as the Cougars took a 23-12 lead into the second quarter.
- Schatzabel made a layup to open the second quarter to go up 13 and after the Lions got within eight, Schatzabel hit another layup to extend the lead back to 10 at 27-17.
- Zambrano and Richey combined to score Clark's next four points, but Emerson then made it a two-point game before Harris and Schatzabel scored the final three points of the half as Clark took a 34-29 lead into the locker room.
- The Cougars opened the third quarter on a 9-2 run led by six points from Schatzabel and a made three-pointer Faulise as Clark held a 43-31 advantage with 7:58 left in the third.
- Emerson scored the games next six points and four points from Zambrano kept it a 10-point game with the Cougars on top at 49-39 with 4:08 to go in the third.
- Harris and Richey scored the final four points of the quarter for Clark as the Lions ended the quarter on a 11-4 run as the Cougars took a 53-50 lead into the fourth.
- Neither team scored over the first two minutes of the fourth quarter, but Schatzabel hit a pair of free throws and a Zambrano free throw with 7:08 left in the fourth extended the lead to 56-50.
- Schatzabel, Zambrano. And Richey combined to score the next five points as Clark held a 61-54 edge and a jumper from Harris with 5:16 to go in the fourth as the Cougars went up 63-54.
- Emerson then went on a 10-2 run over the next three minutes with the Clark bucket coming from Schatzabel as the Cougars held onto a 65-64 lead with 2:37 remaining.
- The Lions scored the next five points to take a four-point lead and a made three from Faulise with 1:24 to go brought Clark back within one at 69-68, but Clark was unable to score again as Emerson came away with a 74-68 win.

- Clark grabbed 40 rebounds, dished out 19 assists, and forced 22 turnovers.
- Schatzabel recorded a double-double scoring 24 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.
- Zambrano also recorded a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds.
