Box Score WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark University baseball team (5-5) played their first home game of the week against WNE (7-2-1) and fell 10-6 to the Golden Bears on Tuesday afternoon from Granger Field.
How It Happened
- The Golden Bears scored three runs in the top of the first before the Cougars added a run in the bottom of the first as senior Ryan Caulfield drove in junior Samuel Farrell to make it a 3-1 ballgame.
- WNE added one run in the second and six in the third before the Cougars roared back with five runs in the bottom of the third to make it a 10-6 contest.
- Junior Anthony LoCasto and junior Billy Sullivan each singled to open the third before Farrell belted a three-run homer to left field to make it 10-4.
- After Caulfield singled to center field, sophomore CJ Johnson hit a two-run shot to left center to pull the Cougars within four at 10-6.
- Junior Heath Cockburn took the bump for Clark in the top of the fourth and retired the side in order and in the bottom of the fourth, Sullivan reached second, but was left on base.
- Cockburn retired the side in the top of the fifth and after allowing a double in the top of the sixth, forced a batter into a groundout to end the inning.
- In the bottom of the sixth, Clark loaded the bases as LoCasto, Sullivan, and Farrell each reached base, but the Golden Bears got out of the jam with a forced groundout to short.
- Both teams went down in order in the seventh and after a scoreless top of the eighth, senior Anthony Keefe doubled to left field, but was left on base.
- After a scoreless top of the ninth, Caulfield singled to left field, but was unable to score as WNE came away with a 10-6 win.

- Caulfield went 3-5 with an RBI and a run scored.
- Farrell was 2-5 with a homer, three RBI's, and two runs scored.
- Sullivan went 2-4 with a run scored.
- Johnson also belted a two run homer in the game.
