Box Score NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Clark University women's lacrosse team (3-4, 0-2 NEWMAC) traveled to Coast Guard (5-3, 2-0 NEWMAC) in a road conference game and fell 21-3 to the Bears on Saturday afternoon.
How it Happened
- Senior Sophie Didier gave Clark an early 1-0 lead with a goal off a free position shot with 12:20 remaining in the first.
- With Clark holding a 1-0 edge, senior Maddie Conners recorded a save on a shot from Addy Bass before the Bears added a pair of goals to gain a 2-1 lead.
- Conners kept the deficit at one with a save with 5:02 remaining in the first before Coast Guard added three more goals to end the quarter as Clark trailed 5-1.
- Sophomore Meghan Fogarty netted Clark's second goal of the game on a free position shot with 11:57 to go in the second to make it a 6-2 game.
- Conners recorded two more saves over the next three minutes and before the half, sophomore Erin Lucas found the back of the net off a feed from senior Kiley Simmons to make it an 11-3 contest.
- In the third quarter, sophomore Annie Battle came into the game and recorded a save before Conners re-entered and saved another shot with 6:51 remaining.
- In the fourth quarter, sophomore Aubrey Conners and senior Elizabeth Liakos each put shots on target that were stopped as Coast Guard came away with a 21-3 win.
